He played some superb tennis during the week and Fog is almost always a good lay at prices around 1.10. You just can't trust him. One bad point and his mind can blow away. At the moment he is even crazier than weeks/months ago. His behaviour is a shame but these kind of patterns are great for trading. The total opposite is Dimitrov, such a gentleman. Wow, great guy. Really deserves that he is called Baby Federer :-)

About the staking. I think 10% are too much. I trade with max 1% of my account. At soccer I am around 10% too, but I can reduce my liability during a trade when it goes wrong. If I trade well, I should never lose more than 5% of the bank. It's still a lot, but at soccer my approach is different, so the risk to lose the trade is quiet low. At tennis is around 50/50 and bad variance can hit me hard. So it's better to stake low. In a very bad run it's possible to lose 20 trades in a row I guess... so safety first.

All the best and thanks for reading my blog!Brulatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02889878882946803348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442293854479110480.post-22083976080576134912014-05-08T06:33:20.387+02:002014-05-08T06:33:20.387+02:00I must say great blog and to be fair I only traded... I must say great blog and to be fair I only traded them finals because of the previous games so i can see logic in your notion of watching the players and getting a feel for it however am a lttitle addicted and cant stop trading any match at min not good after a great weekends profit to snap it out in two days!!!

I layed both foggy and berdych and only on because the odds where low @1.08 for both players, also the fact I was trading the hass match the day before and kilzan does like to come back and foggy is unpredictable as Berdych he did the same in semi his mind goes walks about ( it be interesting to check his stats on that) this is where I agree seeing the players the previous day gave me a bigger advantage and also the liability was like £5 on both players ( am only on small starting stakes of 10% of bank) am thinking thou with my latest reds I should of risk more for better reward. I also think sometimes you've got to go with your gut instinct if it meats your own criteria. however i haven't really got one at the min am just scalping.

good luck

regards

Stephen
stephennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442293854479110480.post-40083310326317922192014-05-05T08:26:01.019+02:002014-05-05T08:26:01.019+02:00Thanks for your feedback. Despite I prefer tennis.

My initial position I place before kickoff as well and I only do it in special games where the market expects (a lot of) goals of the favourite. I recognized that you can find often value at such constellations.

I never would say that you can make an income for living with correct score market trading, but you can earn some bucks if you do it right.

Nevertheless I will focus on Tennis and the only thing which counts to go full time one day it's tennis. Soccer remains too unpredictable (even correct score market) and have not enough suitable matches for this strategy. On the other side I am quiet sure you can find value if you trade the right games. Today Liverpool it's looking quiet interesting for example...

Beside one advantage of soccer are the playing hours. When ATP/WTA is in Europe it's almost impossible to trade. First I am working (at least 50%) and second you are not in a rhythm. Like I wrote, you have to see the players in action as much as possible. Scoreboard it's not enough information in my opinion... but in general I still prefer tennis because the swings and because it's more predictable. You can learn the patterns of market and players. At soccer there is no "natural protection" like end of set for example. There are 11 men and referees, so you never know. :-) At tennis you know after some time how Fognini, Masha or Federer react under certain circumstances. That's the advantage... the repeating patterns!
Brulatihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02889878882946803348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442293854479110480.post-45734161146071356832014-05-05T07:10:37.911+02:002014-05-05T07:10:37.911+02:0030th April you wrote - Today I made a final decici...30th April you wrote - Today I made a final decicion... no more soccer bets. Perhaps I will do the one or the other for fun (5 Euro or so), but nothing more. The full concentration will be on tennis for now on.

So I am slightly surprised with your latest post?

I know a few very good traders that make money by trading correct scores but these are all pre kick off, trying to do it in play is extremely hard and I don't believe that you will be a long term winner doing it in play, however I have been known to be wrong before :-)

Great blog by the way.
