No more NBA...

After another really bad night, I decided to stop immediately NBA trading. In the past I saw some betting pages about basketball, but all of them disappeared. Now I know why... in my opinion is not possible to make profit on a frequent basis with this sport (no exception from the rule). It's just too much daily shape which decides a game. You can't read the game, it can change from one second to the other. You can speculate, but this is no serious trading. It's more gambling. I will miss watching basketball, but for my account this decicion is a good one.

Now I will just focus on soccer and tennis. In contrast to NBA I trust the strategies in these sports, so the results soon will improve again. I keep you informed...

  1. You were really positive last month. Read your post on the 21st of January. Now after a few bad losses you are quiting for good?!

  2. You are right... was more a lack of discipline that I lost two days in a row quiet big. I took just a break (not the worst time, because is All Star weekend) to refresh. Sometimes I am a bit emotional. I will try it again next week. The problem is the missing prove that the strategy is working. So I start to doubt the concept after 1-2 bad nights. In general i only need one good night beside 3-4 bad ones, this I have to learn!

  3. Isn't tennis just as volatile as basketball trading? Soccer is much more predictable but trading is gambling no matter what anyone tells you. The only difference between trading and gambling is that you can reduce losses without losing your whole stake and vice versa with profits. I think your much closer to success then you think and if you can keep the losses down until you hit a good period of variance then you will increase your profits.

  4. Thanks, Simon! I think tennis is a bit more predictable. Is just one player and is easier to read his game and his body language. At basketball there are more often swings you can't expect (like OKC or Indiana leading with 15-20 point at Orlando and losing their games). So it seems more difficult to go for the right swings, but is not impossible. After the allstar weekend I will return. The most important is to trust the system in bad days/nights... in good days you will make so much money that you will make profit overall.
